Improve photography with these 5 basic composition techniques

Photography is all about capturing moments through lenses, and you can make it look better with these basic composition rules. It might demand some additional efforts before you click however it will certainly make your photography much more presentable and eye-catchy.

Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is the most basic composition guidelines while shooting. In Rule of Thirds, we divide our image into nine equal squares with 2 horizontal and 2 vertical lines span across the image. If you place your points of interest (in an image to be shot) in the intersections or along the lines, your photo becomes more balanced. When photographing a person, place the eye closest to one of the intersecting points.

Negative Space

Negative space is the empty space in your image. It creates a sense of simplicity and minimalism. Images that make use of negative space are often more dramatic. It gives breathing room to your subject and helps viewers to focus on your subject without distractions.

Simplification

The use of simplicity and minimalism as a composition technique is very pleasing and restful. Simplicity can also be created by getting close and zooming in on an aspect of the subject. Instead of having too many elements in the frame, keep the focus on a single subject by eliminating distracting elements that may steal the limelight from your main subject.

Remember, even in photography, less is more.
